Sweden trained chemist and regulatory affairs professional with over 14 years experience in two of the world’s top ten pharmaceutical companies, namely Roche and Novartis. At AC Immune Gautam Maitra has successfully filed full Clinical Trial Applications in four EU countries, managed two major Pre-IND meetings and several interactions with the FDA and is currently filing an eCTD-based IND. He drafted regulatory and QA related SOPs, managed some key CRO QA audit reviews and managed an external regulatory consultant. Before joining AC Immune SA, he served in a Lyon-based biotech company, OPi/EUSA, where he was the Director of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls. Gautam also served as the European Director of one of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical professionals associations (Parenteral Drug Association) with over 10,000 members worldwide from the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, health authorities and academia. During that period he developed strong relationships with major health authorities like the FDA, EMA, BfArM, ANSM, MPA, MHRA, Swissmedic etc. and also developed relationships with bodies like the ICH, EFPIA, WHO, PIC/S. He has been an invited attendee to the annual USP European Stakeholder Forums. He has also been a member of the Bio-Manufacturing Working Group of the EFPIA/EBE in Brussels and a member of the PDA Task Force for early Phase Clinical Trials material. He is in the Board of Directors of the Washington-based Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (2013-15) and the President of the RAPS Swiss Affiliate.
Marcel Velterop, Sr VP & Global Head Commercial Operations at SAI Life Sciences Limited Basel, Switzerland. Marcel has a Masters in chemical engineering from the Delft University of Technology and has also served as the Global Business Development effort for the Exclusive Synthesis business at Jubilant Life Sciences. He spent 7 years at Dr Reddys Laboratories and headed up its Global BD team for CPS. From 1989 to end 2003 he held various marketing and sales positions within DSM, among them North-American Sales Manager and Global Product Manager (semi-synthetic) penicillins. In this capacity he had frequent interactions in both India and China over a period of 5 years. In working with various joint-ventures in this region he has gained valuable insights and experience which he has shared in several conferences around Europe in recent years.
Amit Kukreja is currently Director of Market Access for Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia region at Second Sight Medical Products. Second Sight has developed world’s first commercial Retinal Implant commonly known as “bionic eye”. For its cutting edge breakthrough innovation, Second Sight has been honored with some of the most prestigious global awards such as World Economic Forum (WEF) Technology Pioneers 2014, TIME’s world-changing Inventions of 2013, MIT Technology Review’s 50 Smartest Companies of 2013, CNN 10 Innovations of 2013, and several others. Currently, Amit is also heading a Market Access Program at RAPS Swiss chapter (RAPS is the largest global non-profit organization of professionals involved with the regulation of healthcare). Before Second Sight, Amit was working as an Associate Director of Europe for Synergus, a leading Medtech Consulting Company in Europe. In his previous roles at Synergus and other companies, Amit has consulted several large and small global life science companies based in USA (Silicon Valley, Minneapolis & East coast) and Europe. Amit’s core specialization lies in strategic market access, pricing & new business development of innovative medical products. Amit holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from WHU Business School (Germany) with international modules at Kellogg School of Management (USA), CEIBS (China) & IIM-Bangalore (India) and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from India.
Dr. Agarwal is a cleantech expert and entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience in financing, business development and commercialization of new technologies in the renewable energy sector with particular emphasis on renewable energy (solar & wind) and fuel cell technology. He is the founder and Managing Director of Panitek AG, an investment advisory firm, based Liechtenstein and India and active in the field of cleantech, new materials and deployment of new and sustainable technologies worldwide.
In 2007 he co-founded Indian Energy Limited, a renewable energy independent power producer listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM) in 2009 and acquired by Infrastructure India PLC in 2011. He is on the board of Sinmat Inc., a US-based nanotechnology company and is an advisor to Next Hydrogen, a Canadian electrolyzer manufacturer.
Dr Agarwal has worked as a research scientist at EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he consulted for energy, alternative power, and new material development organizations in North America, Western Europe, and South Asia.
Pankaj holds a Ph.D. from the University of Florida, Gainesville and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Graduate School of Business, Netherlands. He has a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. He has published over 40 papers in international scientific journals and has been a speaker at several international conferences and events. He speaks English, French, German, Hindi and Bengali.
Philippe Dugerdil is Professor of software engineering at the Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG) since Nov 2002, and Head of Research at the same institution since 2006. Previously, he spent 15 years in industry, mainly in the private banking area. From the beginning of December 2011 until the end of February 2012, Philippe has been visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) where a taught a course in software architecture. In the summer 2012, he was awarded a grant from the Swiss Confederation to develop a joint software engineering project with a professor at IIT-K. He has also been an active member of the scientific committee of the Indian Software Engineering Conference (ISEC) in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Philippe holds an engineer degree from EPFL (MS), a PhD in Computer Science form the Aix-Marseille II University and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne.

He has worked for governments, international organizations and the private sector in various capacities. He has also provided advisory services to business chambers in Europe and South Asia.
Thomas Bohn is the deputy director of the Greater GENEVA BERNE area (GGBa), the economic development agency of western Switzerland. The GGBa supports foreign investors wishing to set up businesses in Switzerland; Thomas is particularly in charge of promoting the GGBa in India.Thomas has a Master in political sciences from the University of Strasbourg (France) and brings over 12 years of experience in various positions in economic development agencies in Europe. He has been working in Germany (Leipzig, Frankfurt), France (Lyon) and Japan (Tokyo), before joining the GGBa Headquarters in Lausanne in 2011.
